LaToya Tyson

Director of Organizational Compliance

As the Director of Organizational Compliance at The Children’s Guild, LaToya Tyson leads organizational projects focused on internal and external auditing, quality improvement, and system development to ensure agency-wide compliance. With over a decade of experience in compliance and human services, she is dedicated to building strong relationships and providing meaningful training and support to programs across the organization. LaToya also serves as an active member of the organization’s Risk Management team, contributing to efforts that promote accountability and continuous improvement.

LaToya joined The Children’s Guild in 2014, beginning her journey in the Therapeutic Group Homes where she supported student success and taught critical life skills. She later transitioned to the role of Quality and Compliance Specialist, where she managed student and staff records, collaborated with regulatory bodies, and developed systems to maintain compliance standards. From there she took on the responsibility of managing one of the homes before stepping into her current role in organizational compliance. Her experience across multiple programs within the organization has given her a well-rounded understanding of what it takes to support teams at every level.

Prior to joining The Children’s Guild, LaToya amassed 18 years of experience in human services, delivering outpatient mental health and substance abuse services throughout the state of Maryland.

LaToya holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Children, Youth, and Families, both from Morgan State University.
